Group Singing Classes for Adults

… Because singing in a group means more fun, more community and more singing. Group classes are available for adults in the form of two vocal groups:

All Levels Adult Vocal Group and Advanced Adult Vocal Group

Please note: All levels of singing and performance welcome, however music reading skills are required for the Advanced Adult Vocal Group. 

Vocal groups meet every Wednesday during the public school term in Kensington NSW. Address will be sent out once payment has been confirmed.

All Levels Adult Vocal Group: 6:45pm - 7:45pm

Advanced Adult Vocal Group: 7:45pm - 9:15pm

Dates for 2025

Term 1: 5/2 - 9/4/25 (10 weeks)

Term 2: 30/4 - 2/7/25 (10 weeks)

Term 3: 23/7 - 24/9/25 (10 weeks)

Term 4: 15/10 - 10/12/25 (9 weeks)

Both vocal groups will be introduced to a variety of music genres from Pop, Jazz, Rock, Gospel, Pop-Culture, Movie Themes, Music Theatre - and lots more!

All levels - Adult Vocal Group includes -

  • introduction to vocal mechanism, breathing and the body

  • basic breathing techniques and vocal warm ups

  • simple vocal arrangements

  • learning the skill of harmonisation

  • exploration of solo and small group singing

  • the skill of projecting your voice

  • repertoire to be mostly introduced aurally

  • introduction and sharpening of basic music reading skills

  • connecting with like-minded people to build community

  • growing confidence levels as you become more comfortable with using your voice

  • group singing - lots and lots of it!

Advanced Adult Vocal Group includes -

  • connecting the voice with the breath and the body

  • breathing techniques and vocal warm ups

  • complex vocal arrangements

  • honing the skill of harmonisation and blend within many voices

  • projection and interpretation when soloing

  • applying and refining musicality within a group setting

  • repertoire will be introduced using a variety of sources (rote, aural, sheet music)

  • connecting with like-minded people from all walks of life

  • working towards an end of year showcase, with the potential of more performance opportunities throughout the year

  • group singing and lots of music-nerding
